Pencil portrait of Devon Jade by LateStarter63 Pencil portrait of Devon Jade by LateStarter63
Graphite pencil portrait of Devon Jade, size A4, on smooth surface heavyweight cartridge paper.

The reference photo for this drawing was the wonderful photograph 'Lamp of the Body' aarontyree.deviantart.com/art/… of the beautiful Devon Jade devon-jade.deviantart.com/.

Many thanks to aarontyree aarontyree.deviantart.com/ for allowing use of his photo as a drawing reference.

Having seen the photo on dA I realised, as is usually the case, that it looked less good than the original. I have therefore, 7.5 hours after submitting, slightly adjusted contrast and brightness so that it now more closely matches my drawing.

Edit 23.1.14:  I have re-uploaded the same photo, but with the black and white levels adjusted using Zoner Photo Studio 15 (which I did not have when I first uploaded this photo) to even more closely match the appearance of my drawing.

Voiceless and without word, that our state of mind when we find out your gallery...

Beyond the fantastique technique, it seems your graphite pencil open a door between reality and dream...so...of this meeting born great emotions which make our yes shine...

Thanks for this beautiful moment LateStarter63... :-)

Saddened for my mediocre English... :(

Thank you - I have never before had such poetic words written about my drawings!  Then I visit your profile and see that you are a writer and a poet and all is explained!  Unfortunately I am a poetry Philistine - poetry is a closed book to me, especially as yours are in French and my foreign language skills are almost non-existent.  Sorry about that.  I have to rely on Google Translate and hope that it does not mangle the meaning too much!  I have not done so here as your English is clearly excellent.

Great work; subtle high-key is a good approach. Nicely rendered.:sun:
